Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation established as a 501(c)3, with immediate initiation of fund-raising efforts to renovate parts of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.

Completion of construction on 1st major project: Commanding Officer’s Quarters at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park (“Custer’s House”).
1991
Completion of construction on 2nd major project: The Commissary Storehouse at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.
1992
Completion of construction on 3rd major project: The Granary at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.
1993
Completion of construction on 4th major project: The Infantry Barracks at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.
1994
Completion of 5th major project: Interpretive program at On-A-Slant Village at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.
1995
Completion of 6th major project: acquisition of The Five Nations Art Gallery from The ND Indian Arts Association.
2004
Proudly hosted the national Circle of Cultures Lewis & Clark Bicentennial signature event.

Completion of construction on 7th major project: The Cavalry Stable at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park

Completion of construction on 8th major project: Earth lodge #6 at On-A-Slant Village at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park

Completion of 9th major project: The acquisition of The Lewis & Clark Riverboat.
2009
Completion of 10th major project: Assisted in generating bi-partisan support for Northern Plains National Heritage Area established as section 8004 of U.S. Public Law 111-11, elevating city, county, state, Federal and non-profit public heritage sites and the Missouri River in central North Dakota to a national profile.
2012
Foundation declares mission complete at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, executes donation of all installed infrastructure to the State of North Dakota at an established value of $300,000.
2015
Retaining its name from years of previous effort, The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation announces the hiring of a new Executive Director and embarks on Heritage River Landing capital campaign.
2016
Completion of 11th major project: The completion of Phase 1 of the Capital Campaign to build a new headquarters for The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation upon the iconic riverfront property located at 1700 River Road in Bismarck, ND and names
2017
The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation and The Northern Plains Heritage Foundation, jointly announced the establishment of The North Plains Heritage Alliance.
Phase 2 of the Capital Campaign to build a new headquarters for The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation is announced and names Adj. General David Sprynczynatyk and Former Bismarck Mayor John Warford as capital campaign chairs

The Northern Plains Heritage Alliance breaks ground on facility aptly named “The Missouri River Heritage Landing”.
2022
Completion of 12th major project: The grand opening of Heritage River Landing, Headquarters for The Northern Plains Heritage Alliance.
The Missouri River Heritage Landing is established as the interpretive headquarters for the Northern Plains National Heritage Area, one of 55 National Heritage Areas within the National Park Service family.
The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation initiates action on its 13th major project: The Missouri Riverfront Revitalization Project.
2023
The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation receives unanimous support from The Bismarck City Commission in the form of a conditional land grant to convert Grant Marsh Park into a multi-use public facility under the project name The Missouri Riverfront Revitalization Project.
The North Dakota Department of Commerce names The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation and its effort to revitalize the riverfront as recipients of their statewide initiative to support projects that grow and expand tourism offering in North Dakota.
